When I was an undergraduate at UW-Madison, I organized several events on category theory and adjacent topics.
During the spring of 2024, I ran a reading group and organized two undergraduate talks. The reading group covered most of Tom Leinster's Basic Category Theory. The first talk was given by Jack Westbrook on abelian categories. The second talk was given by me on point-free topology.
During the spring of 2025, I organized two undergraduate talks. The first talk was given by Hao Zou on type theory. The second talk was given by Dylan Wallace on a categorical approach to patch theory based on a paper by Samuel Mimram and Cinzia Di Giusto.
